Alex Weil (1951-2019). O Alex era o meu primo americano. Foi ele que primeiro me acolheu e mostrou NY em 1985 quando por lá passei para estudar guitarra Jazz. Para além da sua generosidade infinita, ele era um artista fabuloso, sempre o melhor e o mais inovador em tudo o que se propunha fazer. Foi fundador e trabalhou até ao fim na ultra-bem sucedida “Charlex”, a empresa que criou para realizar vídeos musicais, filmes publicitários, entre outros. Aqui fica You Might Think que ele realizou em 1984 para a banda The Cars, que ganhou o prémio MTV para melhor vídeo desse ano e que é maravilhoso, totalmente revolucionário e inovador.

Alex Weil (1951-2019). Alex was my american cousin. It was him who hosted and showed me NY in 1985 when I went there to study jazz guitar. Beyond his infinite generosity, he was a fabulous artist, always the best and innovator in whatever project he was working on. He founded and worked until the end at the super successful Charlex, the company he created to make music videos and commercials, among others. Here is You Might Think wich he directed in 1984 for The Cars. It’s marvellous, revolutionary, totally innovator and won the MTV award for best music video of that year.
